　　In Yongjing County, the Yellow River flows through 107 kilometers in a graceful "S" shape, forming a magnificent landscape of Bingling Gorge, Liujia Gorge and Yanguo Gorge, "100,000 hectares of high gorge and Pinghu, and 200 miles of clear water and Yellow River".

　　According to Luo Yuzhen, deputy director of the Propaganda Department of Yongjing County Committee, in recent years, Yongjing County has always regarded the protection of the Yellow River water source as an important part of the ecological environment protection work in the Yellow River basin, and made a big article on soil and water conservation.

　　In front of the Yellow River Hydropower Expo Park, there are mountains around, but five years ago it was a bare mountain. In 2014, Yongjing County began to afforest the mountain facing the Yellow River Hydropower Expo Park. The project area is located in the northeast of Liujiaxia Reservoir, 2.5 kilometers long from north to south and 1.5 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total greening area of more than 6,000 mu.

　　Dang Renxiao, stationmaster of Longhuishan Management Station in Yongjing County, told CCTV reporter: "Water supply is the key to planting trees here. Water first, then afforestation. There are more than 4,000 sprinklers on the whole mountain, which draw water from the Yellow River for irrigation. More than 200 sprinklers work every day, and it takes more than 20 days to irrigate the whole mountain. "

　　On the side of the road at the foot of the mountain, there are huts where rangers live. The villagers nearby were hired as rangers. "They pump and water in summer and prevent fire in winter." Through professional management, the goal of effective forest protection can be achieved.

　　The fire that almost happened a few years ago was because some villagers went into the mountains to keep warm, but fortunately, the rangers found it in time to stop it. "The most feared thing about fire prevention is the wind." Dang Renshan said: "The grass around the village has been cut, forming an isolation belt. Once it catches fire, it will not endanger the forest."

　　In the south of Liujiaxia Hydropower Station, from the dam in the east to Qijia Ferry in the west, more than 10,000 mu of mountain area is Longhui Mountain, which is also the project with the largest greening area under the responsibility of Dang Renxiao’s workstation.

　　For a long time, vegetation here is scarce and soil erosion is serious. Every year, more than 80,000 tons of sediment flows into the Yellow River, which seriously threatens the normal power generation and service life of Liujiaxia Hydropower Station and directly affects the production and life of downstream residents.

　　Since the autumn of 1999, Yongjing County has taken the form of government-led, social participation, and voluntary investment of cadres and workers, etc., and comprehensively started the comprehensive management of the ecological environment with afforestation as the mainstay, realizing the "three links" of water, electricity and roads at the top of the mountain.

　　In the second year, the project of "Protecting Mother River and Building Reader Forest" initiated by the Youth Foundation of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and Reader magazine was launched here, and social forces from all walks of life invested in the greening project of Longhuishan, and successively built a number of characteristic memorial forests such as Youth Forest of the People’s Liberation Army, March 8th Forest, Sino-Japanese Friendship Forest and Disaster Reduction Forest.

　　Today, more than 10,000 mu of barren hills have been afforested by 8,950 mu, and the survival rate of newly planted seedlings has reached over 95%. In spring and summer, Longhui Mountain looks at a school of full of green, full of vitality.
