The blogger said,HarmonyOS PC is expected to be a pure HarmonyOS, with a built-in simulator to solve the compatibility problem, and at the same time, it is also building its own ecology in HarmonyOS.

On the mobile phone side, on September 25th, at Huawei’s autumn new product launch conference, Yu Chengdong announced the full launch of HarmonyOS native application, and the preview version of HarmonyOS NEXT will be open to developers in the first quarter of 2024. This also means that HarmonyOS and Android apps will no longer be compatible in the future.

HarmonyOS NEXT system base is self-researched, and the traditional AOSP code is cut off, which only supports the application of HarmonyOS kernel and HarmonyOS system, so it is also called "pure blood HarmonyOS".

Judging from the hands-on experience of previous exposure, HarmonyOS NEXT is no longer compatible with Android applications. If you open the Android APK file, you will be prompted that "this file cannot be opened".

In other words, the first phase of HarmonyOS OS compatible Android App is only a transitional scheme. Let developers gradually migrate and take care of the user experience. In the second stage, after the OS ecosystem in HarmonyOS matures, Huawei will switch its native applications in HarmonyOS.

As for the PC side, according to the known news, Huawei is expected to launch a PC version of HarmonyOS next year. Presumption is also divided into two steps. In the second stage, after the users are scaled up, software vendors will develop application versions specifically for HarmonyOS, and when the time is ripe, remove the simulator.
